But that’s democracy. Those people had a right to vote.
Writing half the country off as morons and racist is not helpful, nor true. The question is really why was the Hilary campaign (and you!) not successful in convincing those people that their viewpoint was misinformed? Their viewpoint was never adequately addressed, or argued against. All the left did was point out Trump as the buffoon he was, and assumed it was self evident that he was not fit to be president. Why did they consider Trump? Because they’re stupid isn’t adequate.
The media is so divided that everyone sits in their echo box of information and is amazed when the results don’t go their way. The same thing happened with Brexit. We all thought everyone wanted to vote remain because everyone we knew wanted to. But we only knew the people who wanted to.
How many ‘rednecks’ did you speak to? Never mind that, how many republicans?
Also side not, how on earth are you measuring “The people with the most highly tuned and trained filtering mechanisms, who are the most demonstrably capable of absorbing information and converting it to action”
